TURNING THE TIDE
Virtual Charity Civil Rights Gala - The 2020 Elections and Beyond

We've been working hard to turn the tide against Islamophobia, attacks on civil rights, and to empower American Muslims to participate in this election.

CAIR-Texas Dallas Fort-Worth (CAIR-TX DFW) is honored to be a leading civil rights, voter engagement, youth empowerment and advocacy organization for Muslims in Texas.

Join us for our first "Virtual Gala" on Thursday, October 29th to be inspired, build momentum, overcome the challenges of Islamophobia, and promote civil rights.

This is one of the most important and pivotal election in U.S. History. Texas Muslims continue to be mobilized and inspired by our work to register, vote, and be change makers.

The evening will include:

- Inspiring Stories: from clients who were helped by our civil rights department
- Strategy Insights: for our get out the vote of Texas Muslims strategy
- Strategic Planning: regardless of how the election plays out, the threat of Islamophobia and attacks on civil rights will remain. We'll share our strategic plan on addressing these issues.

The event is free but registration is required.

Our Goal: Is to raise $75,000 to hire a full-time, professional, experienced civil rights attorney who is able to provide free legal services to Texas Muslims suffering discrimination. Just in the last year, we've witnessed nearly a doubling of serious cases of discrimination. A full-time attorney will bring us a step closer to ensuring all people are treated fairly and with dignity.

Your Donations at Work Transforming Community

Civil Rights Department

Civil rights advocacy is at the center of CAIR-Texas DFW work. Civil rights staff at our office receive reports of discrimination on a regular basis and work to resolve them through mediation, negotiation, public pressure or, if necessary, through legal action. We protect the civil rights of all Americans regardless of faith and has served dozens of victims of discrimination.

TX Muslims Vote

#TexasMuslimsVote is a non-partisan campaign that works in coalition to empower American Muslims to vote. We believe that voting is one of the best ways for Texas Muslims to have their voices heard, positively impact their communities, and make change. Due to Covid, our campaign this year is primarily digital and focused around creating buzz to get Muslims to vote.

Texas Muslim Capitol Day

Texas Muslim Capitol Day (TMCD) is a bi-annual event that brings together hundreds of Texas Muslims to the state's capitol in Austin Texas. During the event, Texas Muslims hold meetings with elected officials, a rally in front of the Capitol, and a prayer service. This event is done in collaboration with dozens of other Texas Muslim organizations, schools, Islamic centers, and other groups in order to empower Texas Muslims to become more civicially engaged and have their voices heard.
